Good Laptop for unreal engine 5

I’m looking to buy a new laptop for school and I have a budget of max 1,500$, I’m looking for:

GPU from the geforce 40 series

CPU Ryzen or intel, I’m not sure what are the good ones but I do need a good one.

Ram: ideally 64 or 128 but I could buy 32 if needed.

Size+weight: preferably smaller then 16 inch and lower then 2kg(4.4 pounds)

And battery: 4/4.5 hours while not using anything heavy (unreal, games etc)

Greetings @mythicfish1

Are you looking for feedback on the specs you’re looking at getting or are you posting to see if someone is selling one? (I wanted to clarify to ensure you’re posting in the proper forum)

sorry for long time for response, I’m actually looking for advice on which laptop to buy or if those specs are good and if I can even find a laptop with all of those things.

It’s hard to say exactly what kind of laptop you’ll need because it always depends on what you’ll be doing.

I, for example, not long ago bought an HP Victus 15 with:

  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX3050 (4 GB GDDR6)
  • CPU: Ryzen 5-5600H
  • RAM: 16GB (DDR4, 3200 MHz)
  • SSD: 512 GB (M.2 PCIe)
  • 1920x1080 @ 144 Hz
  • Battery time is lovely <3

In Poland this laptop costs 954,49$

In general, I bought this laptop with the idea of replacing the RAM from 16 GB to 32 GB, but for me the 16 GB turned out to be sufficient.

512 GB of SSD space is not enough for me, so I’m also getting ready to replace it.

The RTX 3050 works reasonably okey when it comes to Lumen, but when it comes to RayTracing, it’s a bit weak (I’m not sure if I’ve configured Ray Tracing correctly in my project in UE 5.4, I just don’t know if Software or Hardware was used for this as long as those are an option in UE).

So, If u want use RTX, search for laptop with RTX 40XX like for example: HP Victus Gaming 16 for 1289,94$, and u have 211$ for 32 or 64 GB of RAM

Thx

It sounds cliche. But, I tend to fall back onto Google searching with this type of thing when I’m doing upgrades and such. There are also some Discord communities out there for UE that you can probably find and get opinions on this for.
