I’m trying to switch over to GLTF from FBX and a big stumbling block is that the GLTF importer (UE5.5.3) doesn’t seem to search for materials in the project instead creating the needed material instances for the mesh, even though a material of the same name does exist in the project and the material setting in the importer dialog is set to Search Assets.
Is this a known issue or am I missing a setting somewhere?
While we’re at it, what the hell is up with auto-renaming double-sided materials with a _DS prefix? And no option to turn it off? That is, in a word: dumb.
