GLES 2 or 3 for a mobile VR game?

I’m working on a VR game that works on PC and mobile. I want to only target standalone headset (Snapdragon 820+) so GLES 3 seems to be a good solution. However some optimizations are only available for GLES 2.0, for instance Mobile MultiView.

Do you know if it’s planned to port those features to Vulkan or GLES3? Is it a good idea to target GLES 2?
Also is Vulkan a viable option for mobile VR? Looks like yes, but is any of you tried it?
