Glass window material

Hi There, i was wondering if someone knows a photorealistic glass node setup for architecture using lumen.

Also: do you recommend the window geometry (model) itself to have two glass planes (like in real life), or is it better to model your window geometry with just 1 “glass” plane?

would love to hear from you!

Cheers, Philip

There’s a great arch viz glass material that you can use in the Collabviewertemplate.

And you should definitely use 2 sides, so it’s basically just a rectangle.

You can also have a look at the StdTranslucent material in our Datasmith Content plugin, which has a Glass material (and other master materials for all your Architecture use !) looking great with both Lumen and the Path Tracer.

You can find it by enabling the Datasmith Content Plugin, then navigating in your Engine>Plugins>Datasmith Content Content>Materials folder.

Hope this helped !

Cheers,
Antoine

You mean one two-sided plane, OR two planes (box mesh)?

box mesh

the solution is to turn on ray traced translucency in post process settings.
