Glass Transparency and Reflection

Alo,

I am creating materials for window glass.
I want to have transparency and reflection.
I get skybox HDR reflection on a solid material but the reflection disappears at runtime if the material is transparent. Is it possible to get both?

Hello!

Here are a couple of tutorials for creating a glass material:

I would double check that your shading model is set to translucent and in the Translucency options make sure your lighting mode is set to surface translucency volume.

It seems that it still does not give reflection and transparency in UEFN at runtime.
Unless I’m missing something.
It does in the UEFN editor though. )(

Are your graphics settings in Fortnite turned down? - If you crank up all FN settings, do you still not see the reflections?

I have attached an image. Still cant achieve transparency and reflection at runtime…

It seems to be transparent in your image as I can see the pole through the glass. What are your light settings? How often is it allowed to bounce for example? As light settings are just as important as the material ones. I hope that this guides you in the right direction and if you need more help just ask away :slight_smile:
