Read the license.
It’s not just about giving a credit.
legal stuff is complex and this is why licenses are complex.
When in doubt, ask a lawyer. Small fee for a legal advice is so much cheaper than what you can loose if you ever go big enough to get noticed by a copyright troll.
If there’s no license, it means all rights are reserved and you can’t do anything legally.
A short license that doesn’t state what exactly you can and can not do is not a license.
WTFPL, for example, is a joke, not a license.
It says you can do whatever, but legally you can’t.
Also if asking a rights holder for a permission, have it signed.
Unsigned permission will mean nothing to a court.
From the Market you don’t have to, but some people do. Probably same with other sites. You can run credits at the end of the game…
Ok…lets say I took a mesh from an external website. How should I credit it?
You mean something like CG Trader? Just use it, you paid for it.
The only thing to watch out for is some sites require you to pay more when you make more than X number of copies of your game ( or artwork ). This is not the marketplace, but some external sites.
But if you hit that threshold you would be able to afford that anyway.
Otherwise, I think they’re not expecting credit.
What if I use a something for free?
Read their terms carefully.
Many of them have strict terms for their use.
:Free for commercial use" usually means you can use it for anything other than selling the asset itself.
Ok ,I’ll keep it in mind.Really thanks for telling me these things
