It’s 2025 and Linux users (and probably Mac users, too) still don’t have any official way to download their bought Plugins, because it’s gated behind a Windows only launcher.
Every engine update is a major pita because we have to either download the updated plugins in a virtual machine, or use 3rd party tools and cross fingers that they aren’t broken.
If you sell plugins to Linux users, they should be able to download them.
What type of bug are you experiencing?
UI/Tools
Steps to Reproduce
1.) Install Linux
2.) buy a plugin
3.) cry
Expected Result
1.) Install Linux
2.) buy a plugin
3.) download plugin in browser
4.) compile plugin
5.) =)
Observed Result
i’ve observed a lot of frustration within myself and other Linux users… :-p
As a windows users I would like this feature too, I install plugins to my project anyways and it’s a pain to install to engine, open engine install, copy plugin, paste in project, uninstall from engine, build project, then use.
I second this as a windows user as well. You have to have a precompiled version to download the plugin and then cpu and paste it like Komodo is saying.
Really not intuitive and handy
