Giantic meshes appearing in the sky flying dutchman style 4.27

Hi there,

This may be an absolute noob question but I cannot find it with any googling skills - mainly because I may not know the right terms to search. Anyhow, maybe someone has experienced this and can assist me?

When I have the camera at a specific place on my map, spectral geometry on a gigantic scale appears in the sky. I cannot click on it. And when I move camera, it dissapears.

Wondering if its something to do with collision?

Any advice or suggestions would be hugely helpful as its otherwise a needle in a haystack

4-27

Hard to guess really. However you can find culprit:

BACKUP YOUR PROJECT FIRST!

, zip or copy to another folder/drive. Make sure backup works.

Then, start looking for what is messing your project, by deleting meshes, skybox etc, then checking if artifacts are showing up.

When you find what causes them, restore project from backup, and remove culprit.
Then post what it was.

I think it is some mesh what is corrupted or have degenerated vertices/faces.
Also may be lack of VRAM of GFX card.

Having done quite a bit of poking around, I have come to the conclusion that the error has something to do with transparent materials, because when I switch out translucent materials for opaque ones, the fault disappears. Though, I would really like translucent materials in my project…

While this resolves my problem, I have also discovered that when i am in a particular part of the map - and I select any static mesh, its orange outline appear in the sky, gigantic. struggling to find out what is doing this.
