Getting grooms to react to collisions

I’m creating a sequence using metahumans and grooms that I created in Blender. I’ve got the groom bound to the skeletal mesh and everything is great.

However, I can’t figure out how to stop the hair strands intersecting with the mesh. I’ve tried lots of different things like:

  • adjusting the hair strands properties (strands size, density, smoothing & thickness) in the groom
  • creating a physics asset from the skeletal mesh and adding collision capsules
  • reimporting the groom and setting the Hair guide density to 1

Here’s what I’m trying to avoid:

Hopefully someone can help - I’m really trying to avoid giving her a buzzcut!
