Found a help page how to fix this issue but l don't have the graphic hardware support option in the settings. Can someone please help?

Hi ,

Is this error happening for a specific file when you try to open it, or does it happen any time you try to open Twinmotion.

If it only happens for one file, then the problem is that the specific file uses too much VRAM for your computer and requires a stronger GPU to open. One possible workaround for this, since you don't have Graphics hardware support setting (this means your GPU does not support the DirectX Raytracing feature of DirectX 12 so Twinmotion already uses DirectX 11), is to lower the Quality Preset in the Preferences menu to Low. This should reduce the VRAM requirements on launch and might reduce it enough to open the file.

If this happens any time you try to launch Twinmotion, even a new file, then try following the steps in the Twinmotion is not visible after splash screen article. This will reset Twinmotion to a default configuration, which may help resolve the issue.

If neither of these solutions work, let me know and I can look into this further.

Hello, unfortunately neither of these seem to have worked. The files I am trying to open were created on a laptop with only a directx11 graphics card and now l am trying to open these on a PC with a directx12 graphics card. When l open them under the directx11 graphics option on the PC it works but not under the direct12x graphics option.

Hi Anna Maria,

I would try the resource collector first.

Open the project in directX 11, and save with the resource collector:

resoure collectorThe new file will be clean, and there is a chance to work fine with DirectX 12 too.

Try it and let us know if it works.....

Thanks for letting me know. That does help make things a little clearer.

DirectX 12 does use some additional memory compared to DirectX 11. It could be possible that the file is fairly resource intensive, and while it is manageable for your GPU in DirectX 11, when DirectX 12 is enabled, it just exceeds the GPU's limits. Since the file was created in DirectX 11, I assume there aren't any DX12 specific features enabled, such as HDRI skydomes or Path Tracer images, but if there are then deleting this should reduce GPU load with DX12 enabled. If there aren't any DX12 features enabled, then you would need to reduce scene complexity by removing other elements of the scene, such as assets or geometry.

If you would like us to take a closer look at this, please submit a bug report here and share a copy of your computer's DxDiag report, and Twinmotion file. When submitting your Twinmotion file, be sure to use the Resource Collector in Twinmotion's Edit menu to package and compress your file.

Hello,

Please see below my computer specs -

Intel i7 9700uk cpu @ 3.6ghz
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060
Directx12
16gb RAM

I have also started a new save on this new PC, the project was 1.8gb l attempted to run the path tracer and there was the below error message -

After this error message l can longer open this new save file. There is no specific error message it just attempts to load for a couple of minutes then the program closes.

How can l send the file in question?

Thank you.

Apologies for the delay in responding.

If you a submit a bug report here, you will have an option to upload your file so our support team can investigate the issue further.

Since you are saying the file won't open, you likely won't be able to use the Resource Collector, so just sending the .tm file would suffice.

Hi,
I have a RTX4090 and I’m getting the same error message when trying to open Dead by Daylight. All other games/applications work just fine. When opening the task manager it shows that none of the available VRAM has been used.

I have the same problem with a super 4080! Only with a game it tells me to lower the video rendering level! But how is it possible? How can it be solved?

maybe a solution I had this issue with many games like fortnite, Cyberpunk 2077, and some others. I have a pretty high end pc I think.

I have an RTX 4070 ti and an i9 14900KF. i had read that it had to do with how the processor handles stuff and actually had nothing to do with the GPU so it makes sense that lowering graphic settings didnt help. Anyway, I was told to underclock my cpu and that literally fixed this issue with all my games that had that issue.

I downloaded intel extreme tuning utility and changed the following to properly underclock my cpu without losing performance:

Turn “Turbo Boost Short Power Max” to 285.000 W

Turn “Turbo Boost Power Max” to 275.000 W

Turn “Processor Core IccMax” to 350.00 A

then click apply and everything should work again. Let me know if you try that out and if it works!

i hope that helps.

I have been working on fixing this for well over six months. This is literally the first thing I have tried that has worked. And if I could kiss you I would.

You and I both have the same processor and GPU. I was curious if you had any issues or had to change any settings afterwards, because I made changed to my settings to match your suggestion here and everything worked. Shortly after though nothing works anymore and I am back to square one.
