Not everybody has accurate gps equipment for georeferencing,
but it would be great for most people to get the coordinates from google maps.
When the pictures are already geo tagged, you could position the model more or less on the right map position
and the user could pin-point control points to the exact map location ?

if you have GPS in EXIF of your images then the scene is automatically georeferenced. There is also some work in progress already that will allow you to do it also manually without any prior georeferencing … however I cant tell you more now. But stay tuned and I’m sure that you will like it
