Has anyone successfully imported surveyed landscape data (point clouds, DEMs, or meshes) into Unreal Engine 5 while maintaining full geospatial accuracy?
I’ve tried converting data into a 16-bit greyscale heightmap PNG, but the results haven’t been great—possibly due to resolution issues. I’ve also tested RealityCapture and CloudCompare, but I haven’t found a reliable method yet. Ideally, I’d like to avoid converting data into greyscale images for terrain.
If you’ve managed to get surveyed landscapes into UE5 accurately, I’d love to hear how you did it. What formats or tools have worked best for you? Any insights or experiences would be really helpful.
