generate dense cloud only

Hello, 

does anyone know if it’s possible to create just a dense point cloud with colour and skip the mesh/texture steps? I have some laser scans from an area and some aerial photos and I managed to combine them in realitycapture but for my presentation, I just need a dense coloured point cloud. I tried to play with the options but it seems it is not possible. can anyone confirm this?

Hi Nikos,

           In order to generate a dense cloud, you will need to reconstruct in normal or high detail. The dense cloud is generated simultaneously with the mesh. To export the dense cloud after reconstruction you go to Export –> Model in the Reconstruction Ribbon. Then select XYZ point cloud. Then in the options make sure you have selected “yes” for “export vertex colors”.
