Gasp character feet slides instead of stepping forward during the attack animation

The issue happens with root motion and root lock on. I animated in the sequencer and had the root following the character in Z axis. When previewing the animation, the issue doesn’t occur. Any idea of what might be happening?

I’m going to have to assume you mean constant sliding with feet glued to the ground, not just out of sync with the movement of the capsule. If so, the attached video will help you correct it.

The issue is happening in the FootPlacement and LegIK on the ABP_SandboxCharacter. By skipping these in the AnimGraph, the issue was fixed. As this is just a temporary solution, I’d recommend watching this video for ref:
