Game wont pause





So I want to pause the game on construct of the widget blueprint, the widget is being added to viewport and I tried a print string before which also worked, but neither the mouse showing up or the game being paused happens. The widget is created in the level blueprint (it does get created) and the pause game worked before when opening the pause menu ( i can open, close and reopen as many times) and the pause game and show mouse both work, but now I create a new widget and add it to viewport and suddenly it doesnt work.
