After years of training on Unreal Engine for personal projects, we finally came up with an online coop FPS game. So far it’s been hard, a lot of sacrifices and the realities of indie game dev seem harsh. But let’s give it a try!
Here is the trailer:
The game is mainly made in blueprints. For online sessions, we used the Advanced Session Plugins and the basic replication system. We used the Character Creator Pipeline to create our characters and it seems to work effectively. Other 3D models are done inside of Blender.
There is still a lot of work to be done to make the experience worthwhile but it is amazing to see what it is possible to learn, thanks to the sharing of courses and tutorials about UE4. The community really makes possible to create the impossible!
Greetings, @Azad; I hope you’re doing well! Your “What’s Beyond Us” reveal trailer was epic! You and your team’s years of training on other Unreal Engine personal projects are definitely paying off. I know you’ve said it’s been challenging thus far with this project, but I’m excited for you and your team to be on this developing journey nonetheless.
Thank you for sharing your project with us here in the Unreal Engine forums. I wish your team luck, and I can’t wait to see further updates!
Hello @Zezkaii, thank you very much
It started with a few projects with friends, and now it’s the big adventure! The biggest challenge is the transition between single and multiplayer gameplay. The replication really creates new constraints but it’s definitely worth it on the end result.
We’ll post some “Workflow overviews” (here or on Youtube) later to explain more about how the game was made; we’ll try to give back to the community what it has taught us.
Thanks a lot for the feedback!
The pleasure is all mine! I completely understand that the transition between single and multiplayer gameplay can be challenging. But there’s no doubt in my mind that your team will overcome any obstacle this transition may bring. Good luck to you and your team again with developing!
