[GAME] Realtime Tactical Space Combat - Forsaken Void

Hi there, first post here :slight_smile:

I’m basically a total beginner when it comes to programming, developing, game engines in general and UE4.

I’ve always wanted to make a game inspired by Nexus: The Jupiter Incident. A tactical, realtime, space combat game with RPG elements.

Here’s some of my very early and very slow progress:

Rudimentary, after learning some basic UE4 blueprints stuff:

Had a lot of fun with materials, trying to make a cool shield hit effect:

Made some progress with UI, and added good old lasers:

I tried UE4 a couple of years ago and was overwhelmed instantly. But after just sitting down and finally taking the time to understand, I’ve come to really love UE4 and the Blueprints in particular.
