Hi everyone!
Small update on this post:
- Check the GIF and new video below
- I also wrote some Design and development notes below
So we have just launched a Steam Greenlight page… Super excited and nervous.

It’s been really interesting to work on this game from a Design perspective, the movement in KABOUNCE is so non-traditional that it has been really challenging to design levels for it - much more trial and error than I am used to, still, a lot of fun! Art and programming wise we have been really impressed with how streamlined it is to work with Unreal Engine. For instance, creating network functionality, but also collaborate in both C++ and Blueprint. The biggest task we’ve had in terms of the technical side is managing the physics properly - still we’re managing quite fine - but it took us a few iterations. Have had a blast working on this project so far :). Learned a lot of new things too! Hopefully you guys like what we are doing. We still have some place holder stuff in our game! Please take that into account.
Some shameless marketing (hope you don’t mind!) vote for us on Steam Greenlight @ the following link if you want! Steam Community :: Error
And a few images!
Original message:
I wanted to share this here, on the unreal engine 4 forums, where it all began. We originally participated in the UE4 July Game Jam. We ended up as one of the winners with our third person multiplayer pinball game!
We liked working on it, so we decided to continue development.
What have we been up to? (or take a look at the two videos below)
- Transferred primary game logic from BP to C++
- Interface, Level and general Game Design iterations
- Art, models, style, reflections, logo etcetera
Note: I whipped these teaser videos up pretty fast. I’ve been breathing and living the indie live style, I guess :). Currently going from art to design, from management to promotion, and from audio to website building. Oh and the occasional blueprint! So I had to make these teaser videos in a bit of a rush.
This was the original game jam game:
This is what we have now:
If you want to download the original, and very rough game jam version, you can find it in the UE4 July Game Jam submissions here. If you want to follow this project - we have an IndieDB page set up that we keep updated quite well. Though I’ll avoid shamelessly plugging links into this forum, usually kind of frowned upon! Primarily wanted to show what we have been doing so far!
Let us know what you think guys. If its one thing we are not seeing enough, its exposure and therefore, feedback. Thank you for reading!
Much love (these forums have been a goldmine of info, thanks to everyone),
Tim
