Are we allowed to use assets that are made before the game jam in the game jam and can we use community assets (foliage pack by ,…) in the game jam ?

You can use any kind of assets that you want as long as they are not under copyright :slight_smile:

But for the october game jam, keep in mind:

**The game must not be an obvious extension of one of Epic Games’ official Unreal Engine tutorials.
The game must include custom gameplay that exceeds that found in Epic Games’ starter templates.**
All art assets in the game must have a material other than the default applied to it.

I Dont understand this last one. Does this means that you need replace or modify the original material. Example: if I use a Rock downloaded from the marketspace i must change the rock material for a different one? this include material instances?

In my opinion they mean that you should add a material to your meshes and not just use the default one (the grey material) :slight_smile:

I have another question (again :stuck_out_tongue: ) can I use sounds from this site: freesound.org

Can I use textures from this site: www.cgtextures/

And sorry if I am annoying with all this questions but I never participated in the GameJam and I don’t want to mess things up :stuck_out_tongue:

I think you can use such content as long as it is copyright free

"Contestants may not copy or otherwise plagiarize the Submission from any source, nor may the Submission include third-party copyrighted material or artwork, without the copyright holder’s permission. " :slight_smile:

I Know that textures from cgtextures are free but I am not sure about freesound.org because every sound on that site has its own license.

That means if I use sound with by license I only need to give credit to the creator and I can use it in the gamejam :slight_smile:
