Game doesn't start up api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing

Hello,
my players are facing some issues when running the game after they downloaded it through Steam. When they run it nothing happens. If they run the .exe as administrator it says that api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing.
How could i fix it? Thank you.

Updating Windows and installing the update KB2999226 fixed the issue.
