If you have never heard of it, is an excellent team chat platform and I couldn’t recommend it enough for your teams / projects. But, that’s not why I’m . A few people have recently decided to start a general game development channel, in the hopes of bringing a good community of game developers together talking about development, design, art, platforms, engines, etc. and so far it is going great. We’re up to 61 registered users in our first week, but one thing we lack is UE developers (it looks like I’m the only person in there working on a serious project). Because of that, I wanted to try to post on the forums and see if anyone was interested in joining. Unfortunately, has no way to open up registrations to the public so we’re doing invites manually through a form. If you’re interested, enter your email below and we’ll send you an invite ASAP. And make sure you join the #unreal channel once inside.

Also, I know we have a channel in some IRC network or another, but I think is a strong enough platform to try and create something there.
Why not? Variety is good, people use different platforms. I don’t ever keep up with forums, I don’t get on Facebook, I don’t have Skype, and the only IRC I use is for work. If you don’t need another platform, that’s ok. I happen to REALLY like , which is why I’m pushing for it.
Using this over the last few days, I have to say I really like the platform. It’s a welcome, unintrusive way to hang out with other devs - you can simply keep it in a pinned browser tab and check in every now and then. Unlike Skype, which constantly yells for your attention
It’s a bit like having your own, very topical IRC server, but you don’t miss out on things when you’re not online, and it’s completely searchable. All the pros of IRC, none of the annoyances!
So I want to join this channel … but the new invite is giving me an “Application Error: An error occurred in the application and your page could not be served. If you are the application owner, check your logs for details.”
