Front Viewport In Wireframe while in Lit mode

I am working on building a NES style game. I am having an issue with my viewport in the Front view.

While in the FRONT view when in LIT mode my sprites do not show up. The viewport is showing only wireframe mode.

This is making it very difficult for me to bring sprites in and set my scene.

I can only see the final result when I play the demo.

What is causing this and how do I correct the viewport? I am using version 4.24
