I’m starting to learn UE4, and i prefer modeling features in maya
I used maya to create static mesh and export it as pbx to UE4.
As for the material and texturing is it possible to do it in maya and export it together to UE4?
if it’s recommended to do it on UE4 can you guys kindly share some of your references for material and texturing actor in UE4 ?
You are totally right to model things in Maya, that’s the way to go.
I would prepare my textures in Maya as well, but import them separately in the engine and create the material directly in-engine as well.
If you are looking for texturing tools, I would suggest Substance Designer + Painter, it gives the best results out of the box.
