I’m a developer working on different social media apps for clients. When I first started three years back, there was only one service provider I consistently recommended to startups, DeepAR. But recently, some clients began experiencing crashes while recording with the camera where DeepAR was integrated. Since we were using their SDK, I looked into it and noticed many others raising the same concerns on different platforms, including the DeepAR forum, yet none were getting replies.
Because as a developer working on different social media apps for various clients, it was my responsibility to resolve these issues. One recurring request from clients was to integrate filters into live streaming as well, but the only option at that time was Banuba, which wasn’t suitable for startups due to its pricing and contractual structure.
After extensive research, I came across a new company in the market, Nosmai. I was initially skeptical, but their pricing was even lower than DeepAR’s, and with their free trial and pay-as-you-go model, I decided to give it a try after discussing it with a client. We integrated it into their app, and to my surprise, the SDK performed really well. Later, I discovered that it could also be integrated into live streaming. After testing, when I shared this with my clients, they were amazed and very satisfied with the results.
For reference, I’ve attached some screenshots from my clients’ apps. I’ve now used Nosmai in about five apps over the past month, and the camera has been performing really well. So, a big shoutout to the Nosmai team, they’ve done an excellent job, and at a very crucial time too.
