I’ve been getting a handful of Blue Screen crashes while using the latest editor (5.0.3) that didn’t happen with previous versions. The crash is related to nvlddmkm.sys (SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION), and only happens when I’m using more than one GPU (RTX 3090 with NVLink) using “-MaxGPUCount=2”. Here are a few scenarios where the BSOD happens:
I close the editor (happens 100% of the time)
I interact with a window outside of the editor, like Chrome (happens frequently)
I use the Quixel Bridge (happens frequently)
Has anyone else experienced this? My GPUs are not overclocked and pass any stress tests, and I have no issues while working with the editor, including GPU Lightmass builds.
Same is happening to me today – I took my laptop with GTX 1060 which I usually use as a stationary PC connected to the second monitor.
Before, everything was working pefrectly. Now when the laptop is not connected to the second monitor (can’t connect and check whether that will fix the issue atm), I can’t open a single UE 5.0.3 project – I just get BSOD eventually some time after the project loading starts. It can happen almost right after, or some time intp the “splash image” phase.
The error is the same as in the OP’s message. Tried clean driver reinstall and changed to studio drivers – didn’t help.
