Fractured mesh loses default material

Hey there all!

I have decided to try using the Fracture method for destruction when my ship explodes.

After I have fractured the mesh , the remaining material appears to be the fracture map rather than the original material.

I am guessing I am doing something slightly wrong here so any pointers would be great.

Image below shows original mesh to the left and what happens after fracture and i return back to the selection view on the right.

Im hoping its just a setting i missed.

I did read a few posts on here about similar issues, but none seem to point me in the right direction

Press Shift-B to toggle the bone colors of the Geometry Collection so you can see the mesh materials.

It switches shading so you can see what the separate “parts” of a fractured mesh are.
