Hi,
my game has stable 60FPS on Nexus 5 (Android 5.0 Lollipop). It changes drastically when my phone gone into sleep mode… After wake up phone, my game has around 30-40 FPS. When I restart game, this has again 60FPS…
Anyone can help me?
Howdy ,
Thank you for reporting this issue. I have attempted a quick repro of this issue and have been unsuccessful so far. I deployed a quick template project to a Nexus 5, let the phone go into sleep mode, and then reopen the phone with out seeing any difference in FPS. Would you be able to provide a bit more information as to how i may be able to test out this issue locally?
Thanks and have a great day!
It’s not regular… It happened from time to time…
Hey ,
Thanks for the additional information. I will try a couple of different packaged projects and let you know how that testing goes.
Thanks!
I can confirm I am getting the same behaviour. Sony Xperia M.
Hey and rimau,
I have just retested this issue and i have still been unable to see any frame drop when letting the phone go into sleep mode. We have just released 4.6.1. If possible, would you be able to check and see if this issue is still occurring?
Thanks!
Howdy everyone,
Just wanted to see if this issue has been occurring since the release of 4.6.1 and the 4.7 preview. Please be sure to let me know so that I may look into this issue further.
Thanks and have a great day!
Yes, it still occuring.
Hey ,
I have tried to reproduce this issue once again and have been unsuccessful. Would you be able to reproduce this issue with an empty template project deployed to your device? I have been using a Nexus 5 that is on lollipop.
Thanks!
Hi
I did observe that the performance gets back to a normal level after a few seconds with the 4.6.1 build on my Sony Xperia M. So now it works like that:
- I get 50 FPS
- after going into sleep mode the performance drops to about 35 FPS
- after a few seconds it gradually gets back to 50 FPS
Hey and rimau,
Sorry about the lack of a response. I have spoken with another developer and this may error may be caused due to lollipop being a new version of Android. Since we have been unable to test on this version previous to the release builds, this may be were the framerate drop is occurring. We will be testing more on this version to ensure that UE4 and lollipop can work together with no errors.
This error could also be caused by the device having to recompile shaders upon reopening the project because the mobile device has been locked. I will be sure to keep an eye on this thread as we move forward with new releases of UE4.
Thanks!
In 5.4 I have the same problem. After the app is entering in background and then foreground fps drops at 30. any solution? maybe a refresh from blueprint?
