Hello,
for a first person project, I’m trying to match the FOV of the gameplay camera with the focal length of a Cine Camera Actor in Sequencer. The idea is to smoothly switch from gameplay to cinematic, without noticing any FOV modification.
The project will be 16:9, FOV 90.
I found that a focal length of 11,88 is the closest from FOV (horizontal) 90 I could get.
It isn’t totally precise and maybe we will feel the change. Is there a way to express that parameter in degrees instead of mm in a Cine Camera Actor ?
Also, I’m a bit confused: the perspective view is set to FOV 90, and when I set a camera to 11,88 mm the view become clearly wider. It doesn’t seem to match the persp view despite the camera details saying it does! Tweaking the focal length, I found 13,8 mm corresponding much more to the persp FOV… but the camera says it is FOV 81.
I’m missing something.
Can someone help me?
Thanks a lot!
