When pasting images into posts, these now get downscaled to 1920; example of a 2560px screenshot pasted directly into this post:
(Depending on the size?) the upload ends up as either a *.png or a *.jpeg:
And the latter turns up to be lower resolution than the original screenshot, losing lots of clarity in the process.
We used to be able to quickly upload higher res images. Forums now allow uploading larger videos, please allow uploading higher resolution images again. With the BP tendency to flow horizontally, I’d happily settle for 5120px

Yes, Snippets exist and are great, but it takes 5s to take & paste a screenshot or a minute or two to post a snippet. Not to mention that 99% of what is posted in image form would unnecessarily litter the snippet library.
