When I building a tycoon do i need to code stuff as well? For the desktop and mobile and xbox?
Hello @Buginhead, Welcome to forums!
As far as I know, the answer is no , you don’t need extra code just to support mobile or console in UEFN. That is already handled internally by UEFN.
UEFN islands are cross-platform by default (PC, console, and mobile). The engine automatically takes care of input handling, resolution scaling, and basic platform differences, so there’s no need to create separate versions or write platform-specific logic.
Where you do need to pay attention is the UI.
When creating the interface (especially for a tycoon-style game), it’s important to properly configure widget anchors so the UI adapts correctly to different screen sizes and aspect ratios. If anchors are not set correctly, the interface can break or look wrong on mobile devices.
It’s also important not to place critical information too close to the screen edges, since some phones have notches, curved edges, or system bars that can interfere with UI visibility.
Finally, even though UEFN handles cross-platform compatibility, it’s still recommended to design UI, performance, and gameplay with PC, console, and mobile in mind from the start to ensure a good experience across all devices.

Additionally, you can test how your game looks and feels using Mobile Preview. This mode lets you run your experience on PC while simulating an iOS or Android device, making it easier to evaluate the mobile experience and apply important usability improvements.
