Even if you only collect skins the battle passes, you’ll find yourself hitting the cap of 100 slots within a year or two. Most of us have played for far longer than that.
It just seems like a huge oversight to have a game that holds well over 1500+ skins (and when you account for styles that are unique, like Spider-Man etc, the number soars way past 4000) be limited to 100.
It seems almost as illogical as Spotify hypothetically limiting songs in playlists. I can speak both personally and from firsthand testimony that many friends I have spoken to have stopped buying as much too. Why bother? If the virtual toy box is full, what’s the point in adding more to it that won’t fit? The entire point is to be able to have 500 (or limitless) presets, as they’re effectively just a file directory recall of a set collection of cosmetics, and then activate shuffle, in the same sense that you would with a music playlist. You know your favourite song is in the playlist, and trusting that the randomness of Shuffle will eventually play it for you, you rest reassured that your money has been spent well, because you’re still retaining that value.
In Fortnite’s case, the lack of additional preset slots means that once you hit 100, you then must actively discard goods you’ve paid for in order to make room for new stuff- in a digital format which has no good excuse to be limited by such parameters.
TL;DR Please add more preset slots, please fix the locker to function as it did last chapter, and please return the shuffle feature. Half the fun of collecting and combining cosmetics into cool presets has been stripped from the game with these changes (and lack of sensible additions), and I would vastly prefer to enjoy the game again instead of feeling restricted like this. I literally want to give you guys my money again.
@forrestanthony Thank you for your feedback. While I cannot guarantee a response, I can confirm that this has been forwarded to the appropriate team.

+1 on the shuffle presets feature. Used it all the time.
Agreed. This is definitely something as a long time player who spends money on the game wants. Serious players who pour money into Fortnite want to customize their presets. They want to shuffle them. They want more than 100. Anything past 100, we’re having to delete presets. There really should be 500 available or more.
There’s people who actually spend less in the item shop because they can’t do presets and theirs are maxed out. It takes out the fun.
There’s a bunch of girls out there who love to stylize the guns with the music with the character. It creates an experience. They play the fashion show creative modes.
Friends who play with others who want to change their skins based upon friends groups.
This is a feature people have been asking about for years.

For REAL, I am out of slots and I don’t want to buy any more skins because I don’t have the preset space for them and without a preset I just won’t use them

100% agree, once I filled it up I slowed down on buying skins.
I also think that emotes should be In the character tab, but they would also have a tab like they do now.

Bump, but also Epic, it should also be noted that I see a very recurring sentiment here and elsewhere online;
Most people seem to considerably slow down their spending when they hit the 100 preset slot limit… and why wouldn’t they right?
This is why, 6 months later, I still ask Epic to increase the preset slot count to 500 or even 1000. You’ve shown that you’re clearly capable of doing as much, by providing 100 preset slots for every unique type of category in the new (and very buggy) chapter 5 locker. I won’t digress into semantics about how the Chapter 5 locker is buggy, the antithesis of good design, visually unappealing, clunky, and takes literal hours to do what could be done in 20 minutes.
But I will drive home the fact that nobody wants to go through the rigmarole of creating 3+ new separate category presets whenever they buy a new skin bundle for the same skin, and then have to name all of them the exact same thing- or do twice that amount when replacing a skin/preset with something new. It’s unergonomic, clunky, and I think of it every time I wonder if I really want to buy something new, and then bother with all of the inconvenience that Epic have made clear doesn’t need to exist.
- Fix the locker (literally changing it to function as it did last chapter with additional car and instrument slots is by far the easiest solution here
- Increase Locker slots to 500-1000 so that collectors can actually enjoy what they’re paying for
- Let us rearrange our slots via click & drag or button swap on console
- Let us “favourite” or “star” certain presets
- Enable a “shuffle favourites” option that only goes through the favourited preset slots
The overwhelmingly negative response and pleas to fix/revert the locker and all the improvements we’ve all been asking for are substantial in number.

I’m glad to see I’m not the only one with this problem
I have almost 1000 skins and it’s sad that I haven’t been able to use many of them because I’m out of presets. The crazy thing is they can easily add more presets for us. What blows my mind is that they see people are slowing down their spending when reaching the 100 limit but they still aren’t doing nothing about it. Why won’t they do something that will benefit them as well? This is Epic Game’s usual antics. They either fix something that doesn’t need fixing, add something that doesn’t need adding, don’t give us what we actually want or ruin Battle Royale by removing movement, nerfing or buffing things the wrong way, or changing our cosmetics from time to time and sometimes making them look worse. This game is a central for cosmetics. We deserve more slots for the money we put into this game. Please Epic, for once do the right thing and give us our 1000 slots and we’ll give you more money. It’s that simple.
