Fortnite Update Suggestions
Here are some changes and improvements that would make the game better for both casual and competitive players:
-
Remove bandages. They are outdated and rarely useful. If they aren’t removed, please bring back Rusty Cans (they were more fun and useful).
-
Add more healing items (e.g., legendary Slurp Juices). More healing would help casual players survive longer and reduce frustration.
-
Potentially add a sixth inventory slot dedicated solely to healing items.
-
Increase material farming speed/yield. Farming up is inevitable; make it quicker and less of a chore.
-
Raise material cap back to 3000.
-
Buff shotgun damage. A body shot should never hit for 30; minimum should be in the high 40s to low 50s within a fair range.
-
Remove bullet drop from snipers.
-
Remove high recoil guns. If the crosshair is on target but shots miss, it feels broken and discourages players.
-
Vault guns that aren’t being used. You already have stats on what players pick up. If guns are ignored, they should be rotated out.
-
Help casual players compete. One of the main reasons player count drops is that casuals stand no chance against strong editors/builders. Increasing availability of healing (like legendary Slurp Juices) could keep them in the game longer, boost playtime, and reduce rage-quitting.
-
Take stronger action against cheaters.
-
Add hardware bans or even isolated network bans.
-
Consider strong legal action against cheat developers (add terms in the TOS that make cheat development unfeasible).
-
Go after websites and TikTok promoters selling/distributing cheats.
-
The “suspect apprehended” message after being killed by a cheater is powerful and keeps players from quitting — expand on that system.
-
-
Increase stack limits for healing:
-
Carry up to 12 minis (and allow them to heal all the way to 100).
-
Carry 6 medkits in one slot.
-
-
Expand the loot pool. There are countless guns players love that get vaulted. Removing popular, well-loved weapons lowers play count. Keep a larger pool instead of constantly shrinking it.
-
Fix guns with poor accuracy. For example, the original AR in Reload still can’t hit properly — guns like that should be either fixed or vaulted.
-
Stop heavy nerfs at the start of new seasons. At launch, the new season feels fun and balanced, but then over-nerfing ruins it. Examples: Wreck-It Revolver, Fists, MK-7 (back when it first dropped, then recoil was added and it lost its fun)
Competitive Fixes
-
Surge changes:
-
Keep the first two zones the same.
-
After that, make storm surge deal 2-tick damage, but add more white heals to balance it.
-
Instead of damaging players based on a damage threshold, make storm surge instantly eliminate the lowest-damage player/team in the lobby. This would force players to secure eliminations rather than just trading damage.
-
-
Storm damage:
- Cap storm damage at 10 per tick maximum.
-
Medkit adjustment:
-
Make medkits heal faster in 10 tick storm (5s) allowing players to move again faster after using one.
-
Items like spray mist can heal in storm — keep that same fundamental for all new loot pool healing items.
