Fortnite Ecosystem v35.00 with Known Issues

General Physics enables physical interactions and simulations within Fortnite islands and is being released with v35.00 as an Experimental feature. This release also includes device updates and Burd Prefabs & Galleries.

Fortnite Creative has a new Time of Day Manager (TODM), which allows islands to have more realistic lighting and be in parity with the UEFN TODM and future TODM updates.

To customize your lighting, use the Day Sequence device and the Ambience settings available in the World Settings category under Island Settings. Check the release notes below for more information.

Please note: UEFN templates that are still using legacy lighting will be updated in v35.10. If you create a project with a UEFN template that uses legacy TODM and Skydome device between the 35.00 and 35.10 releases, you will receive a prompt to convert to the new TODM.

Teleporter Device will snap camera down or up on exit when “Face Player in Teleporter Direction” is set to “Yes”

We have identified an issue that could cause the Prop Hunt template to fail validation when trying to launch a VK-Edit session. As a temporary solution, you can run Validation fix-up and resave.

Islands using the Skilled Interact, Input Trigger, and Note Trigger devices that utilize Verse events from devices that receive float parameters will not have their events triggered.

We are looking into an issue where Verse persistence may not be reading/writing as expected on some islands.

We will let you know when we have more information or a fix.

We are still working through the Verse persistence issue.

Once we have a fix in place, we will work to restore players’ persistence data.

We’re working to fix an issue where players and creators cannot join into an island.

Creators may see an error when launching an edit session, pushing changes, or submitting an island for publishing. We’re working to fix this now and will let you know as we have more info.

We are investigating an issue in UEFN where some projects are failing to cook. We’ll follow up as soon as we have a fix or more information.

We are aware that players are receiving an error while trying to start a replay in Ballistic and creator-made islands.

The issue with an increased number of failed cooks when pushing changes from UEFN after 35.00 was released has been resolved.
