Fortnite creative 2.0 pay, opposed to releasing a standalone game as a solo dev

I want to know how much money i can potentially make with fortnite creative 2.0, im trying to get really rich from making video games. Should i use UEFN & try to create top content? or should i just make my own unique game inside unreal engine? I have great ideas but im primarily here for the money. I want to know if i can make millions upon millions of dollars with fortnite creative 2.0! Im just being blunt ladies & gentlemen.

If that’s all you got, then no, no V-Bucks for you.

Otherwise put your money where your mouth is and let the great work speak for you.

Seems like you took what i said personally rather than giving a clear answer. Im very specific in what im asking! Which one can potentially lead to more success? Im doing this for the money! This is all i want to know. CAN A POPULAR ENOUGH GAME MADE IN FORTNITE CREATIVE 2.0 WITH UEFN MAKE ANYONE MILLIONS UPON MILLIONS OF DOLLARS? IF IT CAN’T MAKE THAT, ILL CONTINUE MAKING MY GAME WITH JUST UNREAL ENGINE ALONE.
I DIDN’T ASK FOR YOUR EMOTIONS.

You asked for blunt. The answer was pretty emotionless. By saying ‘if that’s all you got’ I meant to ask what your strong suit was. What else can you do besides churning out worthless ideas?

IF IT CAN’T MAKE THAT

We know nothing about you and what you can do.

If you’re an artist and can’t program, no dice. You can program but can’t artist, still no dice. If you can do it all, the world is your oyster.

There is no answer to your question. Are apples better than oranges? No one will answer you seriously with a question like that…

You know nothing of me, nor my ideas, you seem very insecure, & obviously the wrong person tried to answer my question. Use logic & not your emotions next time please. Im specifically asking what can potentially make more money, you’re talking about my ideas & whether or not i can program or this or that. I think im just going to stick to using unreal engine as a solo dev. I don’t have time for emotional people to be answering my questions.

Can i make millions upon millions of dollars with fortnite creative 2.0???

If i can’t do it with that, ill just STICK TO doing so with just unreal engine alone.

I don’t care about anything else other than what im asking, im not here to make myself known concerning what i can do, all i want to know is what i asked.

If fortnite creative 2.0 can make me millions, ill use it. If it can’t, ill just use unreal engine alone for my game.

Leave your personal issues to yourself.

I’m replying so I can watch this thread developing. Please don’t mind me.

Too late, you’re in; you could have quietly flagged the thread as Watching, and now you must share the popcorn.

I actually thought the OP was tongue-in-cheek.

Epic believes more money can be made with Fortnite. Sure, why not. Millions upon millions, though? As fat a chance as being a solo dev. Hope I’m wrong since the forums are now teeming with eager newcomers wanting either a slice of cake and/or simply express themselves. It’s never been so alive before. It’s the good stuff.

If i can’t do it with that, ill just STICK TO doing so with just unreal engine alone.

If you have a good product nearing completion and believe you can pull it off, why would you ever even think about abandoning it? Stick with it, polish, deliver, publish. Move onto the next great thing that Creative 2.0 may become.

The tools are in their infancy, they will only get better. It seems a slew of improvements are on the way as we speak. The price you pay for early adoption is high.

Firstly, Everynone is a stalwart for the answers hub. You’d do well to have their expertise available.

If you have “great ideas” why piggyback them on to an already existing IP by using UEFN?

Share some of your great ideas with the community, get feedback and make an informed decision on how to proceed.

Seems like you want to get rich quick, for that I would sell ■■■■■■■. Not develop computer games.

But your confidence is enviable. Do you have a showreel or portfolio of your ideas?

This isn’t GPT-4. You can’t just expect the correct answers immediately.

That whole thread is legendary, please keep it going.

As for making big bucks in UEFN, didn’t Tim Sweeney announce something like 40% of Fortnite profits being put in a pool for UEFN? If I remember correctly.

If I’m right and if there isn’t a lot of successful games, I guess the big bucks would be attainable. Most likely though, you’ll be beat by other devs, including those who had preview access to UEFN, and those recommended by Epic.

No one is getting a big fat cut just like that, not by selling a product. People will be awarded based on some undisclosed engagement criteria Epic will be tweaking over the next 2 years or so. Try #5. Payout Calculations. for the details:

Epic evaluates the performance of your Content in Fortnite by measuring how engaging Users find that Content as a basis for an Engagement Payout Award which distributes a portion of spending from purchases of cosmetic and similar consumer items that are usable across all of Fortnite (the “Engagement Payout Pool”) to creators based on engagement. Your Engagement Payout Award reflects the engagement attributable to your Content as a portion of User engagement across all content in Fortnite, as solely determined by Epic.

https://www.fortnite.com/engagement-program-payout-terms

There’s lots in there - minimums, rollovers, eligibility, what constitutes the pool, T&Cs…

Here’s what I got:

  • you make cool stuff and publish it
  • people play your stuff
  • at the end of the month Epic awards you with ÂŁÂŁÂŁ generated by V-Bucks because you’ve attracted folks who could potentially generate even more V-Bucks (???)
  • the self propelling machine ensures everybody wins

Someone corrects me if I am wrong, please.

Disclaimer: I definitely do understand the whole thing through and through. Merely reading the small print.

Thanks for that precision, it seems much more sensible than my previous understanding. The only way to be sure will be to wait for the first month’s payout to drop. Which, since the program was backdated to the start of this month, should be soon.

I don’t understand what those blue cards is. You would sell what? If you wanted to get rich quick.

I am guessing:

EYEBALL

You work for epic or something?

I endure it all free of charge. :innocent:

I wouldn’t try to write a game unless you love video games, have spent most of your life playing video games, have experience in programming and graphics.

Games aren’t about getting rich, they’re about the joy of developing your own games.

Your question would be the same if you had put “I want to get rich playing the drums” - if you’re talented, work hard to get fit and play well - and extremely lucky - you may make some money - chances are against it though…

If you’re someone who likes playing the drums it’s different - you’re managing to eek a living by doing what you love…

With this attitude you would be lucky to make for starbucks coffe or cheap beer.
To make millions of green benjamins you need great product (or be very lucky).
For great product you need passion and love for what you are doing.
But you love benjamins not creating something extraordinary.

So i think you will fail making something great and thus fail millions here.

And: ++1

Ps.
getting coke and popcorn

I have a recent question on my profile, im wondering if you have a answer to it
