Hello everyone!
I’ve created an interactive community prototype to demonstrate my proposal for a new, modern, and secure Fortnite account merge system.
The idea comes from a problem some players face: their Fortnite cosmetics are divided between two separate accounts, and they would like to bring their eligible items together without risking their existing purchases or account security.
This prototype demonstrates how a possible system could work, including:
-
Account verification: simulated two-factor authentication (2FA) and ownership checks.
-
Security review: identifying suspicious activity and requesting additional verification when necessary.
-
Waiting period: a proposed 7–14 day delay with notifications and an opportunity to cancel an unauthorized request.
-
Inventory merging: combining eligible cosmetic items while avoiding duplicates and identifying items that may require special rules.
-
Purchase protection: highlighting the importance of preserving existing Epic Games Store purchases and other legitimate entitlements.
You can also explore different test scenarios, including failed verification, suspicious activity, manual review, and cancellation.
Try the prototype: Fortnite Account Merge — Community Prototype
This is an unofficial community concept. It does not connect to real Epic Games accounts, modify Fortnite inventories, or represent an existing or approved Epic Games feature. All accounts and verification processes are simulated.
My goal is to show how a redesigned account merge system could prioritize security while helping players reunite their divided Fortnite inventories.
I’d appreciate any feedback, suggestions, or ideas for improving the concept. Thank you for taking the time to check it out!
