One-line positioning + the week’s single most important thing
ForgeMind exposes Unreal Engine control over standard MCP: detect and validate projects, bridge to a running editor, read .uasset offline, and generate real assets through a declarative DSL — assets are actually created in the editor, not simulated. This week the Blueprint domain closed out: 72 of 73 items now pass on real UE 5.0–5.8 projects, the planned backlog for Blueprint is down to zero, and the Material domain opened with its first five cases (Compare, Constant, If, ScalarParam, Transform). The asset roadmap stands at 154 items — 77 done / 4 in progress / 73 planned.
Planned
Next: work through the 55 planned Material cases (texture sampling, noise, lerp / switch, custom HLSL, Distance Field, runtime virtual textures, decals, hair / Strata and more); start the 18 planned hard-surface pipeline cases (array / bevel / boolean / bridge / loop cut / solidify / mirror, plus placement and primitive-to-StaticMesh output); and close the remaining in-progress items — RuntimeComponent on the Blueprint side, Material Attributes and Material Function on the Material side, plus the engine foundation Engine List.
In progress
Working on those four open items. Last week logged 60 development records across 7 days (4–12 per day), and the pace shifted from adding cases to consolidating them: Blueprint Camera was closed by fixing a NewViewTarget pin type, a GetPlayerController (BlueprintPure) node being wired as if it were an exec node, and a wrong ShakeClass pin name, with a VerifyIrSnapshot false-trigger comparison added alongside. The Material side is now driven by a stepping command plus a shared material-operation layer, with the auto-tidy path extended to the material editor.
Done
Passed: 72 Blueprint test cases on UE 5.0–5.8, covering Cast, ClassDefault, Collision, ContainerMapSet, Curve, Ease, EditableVar, Enum, EnumForEach, FlowControl, Gate, Interface, Struct, Inherit, Particle, SoftRef, SpawnActor, for/if/while loops, events, event dispatchers, level streaming, level blueprints, functions, function libraries, dynamic materials, variables, save systems, macros, timers, interpolation, construction scripts, parent calls, bound instance events, debug drawing, select nodes, ArrayOps, Bitmask, DataAsset, DataTable, Delay, DelegateBind, Destroy, Input, LineTrace, Math, MathExpr, NetReplication, Random, Rotation, Select, ShapeTrace, Spline, Timeline, Vector, Camera, Physics, Text, AsyncLoad, Audio, CharacterMove, Component, EnhancedInput, Operator, PredictProjectile, Reference, Subsystem and Transform.
The translator and bridge chain was fixed as a run rather than one bug at a time: Dot / Cross friendly aliases lacked type discrimination, BlueprintAutocast needed an X → FString compatibility pair, TSubclassOf had to be unpacked, bare-name function arbitration needed a priority order, and identically named GetDisplayName overloads were binding to the editor module — the two resolution chains are now merged into a single decision point. String and logic gaps that had been quietly missing were closed too: FormatText gained a native node for zero-pin cases with DefaultTextValue routing, a dead ToString() node was removed, string `a + b` no longer translates to Add_DoubleDouble, and `&&` / `||` / `!` / boolean `^` now emit nodes. Case batches advanced across Physics, AsyncLoad, Audio, Reference, PredictProjectile, CharacterMove, EnhancedInput and Component (UClass* → UObject* pins, Soft Class Reference base types, enum argument positions, MakeArray pins, `MaxWalkSpeed` no longer needing `[Component]`, component ops silently dropping `[Component(Attach)]`). Five Material cases landed: Compare, Constant, If, ScalarParam and Transform — with the comparison-expression family aligned to LessMask and texture sampling / channel-extraction semantics corrected.
Quantified (aligned with Episode 01): UE 5.0 Blueprint For Each with Break — 20 single-node operations vs 11 DSL lines in one call, saving about 75%. One Blueprint call replaces 50+ single-node operations.
