Ford Bronco "Built Wild" cinematic

I was inspired by Alpha Romeo cinematic done in UE, and decided I to create my automotive animation. As most of the cars in such animatics driving straight and there is no work of suspention I took it as personal challenge and created procedural non-skeletal rig.(so it can support nanite and hi-poly CAD imported models)

Here is the demonstation of the rig:

I understand the video lacks Art Directing and maybe some neat camera movement, but it is my personal project which I assembled alone. Hope you all like it!
Cheers!

Oh wow, @Postprocessed ! This looks and sounds like a real, classic, made-for-tv Ford Bronco commercial - complete with a rough, slightly uphill drive over rocks and boulders and cutscenes of horses running freely and unbridled! You must have had such fun creating this!

My only critique is some of the camera movement being too rapid at the very beginning and at around the 0:32 mark, but certainly not a bad job considering this is a solo project! Color me impressed!

What was the most challenging part of creating your cinematic and what was the most rewarding?

Thank for such a great feedback! I took sounds from different Bronco commercials and mixed them to the edit. It was definetly fun and a lot of sweat creating it!

I agree with your point on camera movement, that was toughest part to make the camera move properly which was really hard.

What aws most challenging? Two things:

  1. Make an easily animated car rig which will procedurally animate suspension, wheel rotation and body response for for terrain. Was the most rewarding
  2. Making path-traced render without any artifacts  made me sooooo furios some times haha.

Anyway will continue working on this car rig and lighting quality. Hope if it would be interesting for more people will make a tutorial.

Cheers!

Hi there @Postprocessed,

Hope you’ve been well!

The part of this project that got me most excited was the clear marketing strategy. Specifically, the imagery, the call for “adventure”, and the environments… are all very on-brand and incredibly well executed. You definitely managed to call all the cowboys with this!

Absolutely fantastic work. It looks great!
