Footstep sounds not playing correctly

Footstep sounds are not playing correctly in my game. The default sound is sand. I have about seven materials all around my landscape. They are dirt, rock, grass, stone. They all blend with each other. If the player is walking on the areas they blend, it just plays the default sound, which is grass. I have tried to minimize the amount of blending but it does not help, most of the map sounds like sand when you walk on it, but it does not look like sand.

If you are using Wwise, you can create different groups for each material. But, with you are using Fmod I really don’t know how does it work

hey, i dont believe we are using either of these. Just whatever Unreal has default

Have you set up the footstep sounds for different materials?

I never tried this with landscapes, so I don’t know if this will work for you. Here is the best tutorial I found to make foot step sounds change based on surface material.
