Football pitch - landscape layering

Hi guys :slight_smile:

I’m making a small game where the majority of the game takes place on a football field with the changing rooms building is in the middle.

1). I’m struggling to get the mud and grass to be layered. It looks off.

2). How would I go about painting the usual markings onto the pitch to make it complete? Do I use some sort of paint texture or something else?

3). How do I do vertex shading on the landscape?

  1. could you post a pic of your material? -> also make sure to add variation in your material (take a look at the grass material from the starter content)
  2. I personally would do it with a spline + texture or a decal :slight_smile:

I am trying to make it like the football pitches in my local park. The mud is in the bottom and the grass is on top, with uneven weightings to each. The mud is often sticky in the autumn time, where this game is set.

Does CGTextures have any paint textures? If not, where can I get them? :slight_smile:
