Hi Epic team,
Following up on my earlier request for the Python Editor Scripting Beta (early October, project BoxRush).
>
Recap:
-
Fortnite/UEFN: Release 42.30 (CL-58813929), Windows 11
-
Epic account: Goldmen
-
Project: BoxRush — working multiplayer party map (cow-catching chaos, boss cows, meat-stealing, combo system). Gameplay is fully in Verse (~500-line creative_device, compiles clean).
-
Remaining work is editor-side content production: placing 100+ gallery props, a floor plane and Player Spawner devices at precise coordinates — the batch-actor-placement workflow described in the Python Tools in UEFN docs.
-
Also planned: Claude/MCP integration for editor automation — listed in the official docs as a sanctioned use case (“Remote execution of well made scripts or tools, such as a MCP integration with an Agentic AI”).
I checked the latest build: there is no “Beta Access” section in Project Settings, no PythonScriptPlugin toggle in the plugins list, and every session logs:
LogPython: Python disabled via CVar ‘Engine.Python.IsEnabledByDefault’
Other creators recently reported Python becoming available in Project Settings on 42.20+ builds — my build (42.30) does not show this option. Could you clarify whether my account needs explicit allow-listing, or whether this is a build/update issue on my side?
Happy to provide logs or any details. All gameplay logic stays in Verse — Python is only for editor automation.
Thanks!
