Foliage with udim (virtual texture) vs regular uv layout?

I’m making a plant with multiple unique images per leaf (10-20 pcs.). When it comes to laying out the uvs is it better to place all the leaves withtin one large texture (8192 for instance) or spread them on different udim tiles (2048 or 4096)? [ I’m targeting 2k-4k resolution displays ]

How significant in such a case are the extra calculations and memory allocations for udims if there are any ?
