Coming from Blender originally, I’ve been having issues with how the depth of field works in UE5. No matter what I’m doing, I can never seem to get specific parts of an object in focus, while the area around that specific point stays blurred. Here’s an example of the effect I wanna achieve;
Everytime I’m trying to set up something like this it just ends up with that whole mesh being completely sharp. In Blender you can just put an empty into the scene and set it up as a focus point for the depth of field, which works perfectly, while in UE I got to mess around with the camera values tons, without ever reaching satisfying results, even after going through quite a few tutorials.
Is there any “right” way to achieve said effect that I’m missing?
