First steps with RC - Questions

Hi,

I am currently testing RC to combine our various workflows. We work with a Leica MS50 for laser scanning, a UAV for aerial work and normal cameras for object work.

If you don’t mind I have a few questions:

Laser Scanning formats: It seems only PTX are supported? Do you or will you support PTS, RCP or LAS?

Laser scanning issue: Can the points in the point cloud be edited (deleted) in RC?

Aerial Issue: When importing flight log only the first image is given a location, none of the others are.

Aerial Issue: Ground control, when I add ground control from a file I cannot see the imported points. But when I add a new point it knows there are 20 existing points and adds a new point 21.

Aerial issue: How do I delete a ground control point from an image?

So far there are some really nice things I like about RC, but I’ve a way to go before I get it. Any advice on the above would be appreciated.

Cheers
Martin

Hi Martin

Laser Scanning formats: It seems only PTX are supported? Do you or will you support PTS, RCP or LAS?
for now is only PTX, soon will be added a E57 file format. for remaining file formats ( data structure ) its a bit more complicated as the formats not transfer some data what we need for processing. But in later stage is planned support for much more file formats.

Laser scanning issue: Can the points in the point cloud be edited (deleted) in RC?
= No, its not possible to edit, its best if you do it in specialized sw that have plenty of edit tools for PCDs and just then export as final data to RC. Can specify what sort of edit you looking for ? if you not mean some post reconstruction edit tools.

Aerial Issue: Ground control, when I add ground control from a file I cannot see the imported points. But when I add a new point it knows there are 20 existing points and adds a new point 21.
= Can send me the flight log so can take a look and solve the issue ? send it to muzeumhb@gmail.com

Aerial issue: How do I delete a ground control point from an image?
= look in the ControlPoints in the 1Ds view, under CP can see on what images is the CP used, then there should be a red X when go on the image.

if need my assistance let me know on muzeumhb@gmail.com and can guide you trough the TeamViewer remote session

Apologies for jumping on an old thread, but I’m having an issue similar to Martin with the Flight Logs. When loading a flight log in either comma separated or space separated format, the first image is the only one showing a location. Was a remedy for this identified? Thank you.

Hi Brian Blair

can send the flight log to milos.lukac@capturingreality.com
Will take look on it and say what can be done…
