Hi everyone,
I’m pretty new to Unreal Engine and just started exploring it properly over the past week.
I’ve been following a few basic tutorials and trying to understand how lighting, materials, and Blueprints work together. I’m currently experimenting with a small indoor scene and trying to get the mood right using only baked lighting and post-processing.
So far I’ve run into a few beginner issues:
-
My lighting sometimes looks very different after building
-
I’m still confused about when to use dynamic vs static lights
-
Blueprints feel powerful but a bit overwhelming at first
Even with that, I’m really enjoying how quickly you can go from nothing to something that actually looks like a real scene.
If anyone has beginner tips for:
-
setting up clean lighting
-
avoiding common Blueprint mistakes
-
or good learning resources for environment building
I’d really appreciate it.
Looking forward to learning more and sharing progress here
