Hey there!
Thanks so much for reaching out, and huge congrats on your drone project, that’s no small feat! Seriously, kudos to you
When you end up with multiple components in a RealityCapture project, it usually means the software couldn’t find enough common points between some of the images to stitch them all together into a single model. Don’t worry, this is super common and fixable!
One thing I’ve learned over time with RC is that you can almost never have too many pictures. The more, the merrier! RC is great at handling large datasets, but there are a few key things that really help with alignment. I put together a short list (with links!) that might help troubleshoot and improve your next capture:
Make sure your photos have plenty of overlap.
Ideally 60–80% between each image. This is especially important around tricky areas like the top and bottom of your object.
Object Texture matters
RC can struggle with smooth, shiny, transparent, or plain surfaces (like a white mug on a white table), because there’s not much detail to match between photos.
Lighting makes a difference
Diffuse lighting works best. Cloudy days are actually perfect for photogrammetry!
Camera settings
RC loves sharp, well-exposed images. Try to keep your ISO low and avoid motion blur.
Alignment settings
There are some helpful tweaks you can make in RC. Here’s a link that explains those settings:

And here’s a general guide on how to take photos for RealityCapture, in case you haven’t seen it yet:

I hope that helps a bit! Let me know how it goes, and feel free to share more about your project.
Kind regards
