First Person inside head hide.

Hi everyone. Newbie here.

I couldnt upload more then one picture since im new, so combined into one image.

I am just asking about camera setups and how to get the inside of the head not to show when in first-person mode.

In the first part of the picture, you can see I have a Third Person Camera and a First Person Camera, which is triggered by the scroll wheel, like in some other games like Fallout and Skyrim. The problem is, that you can see the inside of the head and hair when in first-person mode.

My MetaHuman has mesh for the Head separate from the body, so I have it set up so that when it switches to the First Person Camera, the head visibility turns off. And when you scroll out to the third person, the head visibility turns on.

This works great, even ground shadows show the head still in first person and third. The problem is reflections. Planar and Lumen’s reflections in the First Person have no head and the reflected shadow has no head.

It’s a big issue I need to fix. Does anyone have any idea how to set it up so that I can have this third person first person switch, but do it correctly the first person still has a head inside reflections, but can not see the inside of the character’s head when in first person mode.

Any advice would be great.

I think that you can replace the set visibility for the head with Owner No See, which will render the head in game, but the FPS camera will ignore it.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I did what you said, and it works for the face, but not for the hair. For some reason the hair goes bald. The hair is parented under the face, so maybe the hair doesnt consider the First Person camera as the owner? I am not sure.

What is weird is, its only when I first start the game. When I switch from first person to third person, the hair comes back, which is expected, but then when I go back into First Person mode, the hair is still there, and remains there.

And can not see the inside of face and hair, which is great. So this solved my issue, however, I need to find out how to make the hair shows when first starting the game in first person mode. I need it to not be bald and require switching cameras to get it to appear.

Also, unfortunately, the shadow of the hair and face when in First Person disappears on the ground with this set up, not sure how to fix but will try a few things. Pictures below to try and show what I am experiencing.

Ok, so I fixed the no ground shadow issue. I created a duplicate of the face and hair, but turned off rendering but kept cast shadow on. The result is a mesh that isnt seen at all in FP or TP or reflections, but does cast a shadow on the ground. Combine that with the Owner No See set up in my previous reply, its all working great.

Unfortunately still have the issue of when I first start the game, the head is bald, and requires a camera switch to show the hair. Once the hair is showing, the set up is perfect for what I am after. Just got this last issue to fix. Pictures below:
