[Finished] - Affordable Landscapes - Premium

Hey there Max Dev – I’m currently using Grass Hills in one of my games. I’ve got lots of trails painted with the Forest layer. Will you remaster the layers to take out the repeating seams? (I don’t even know if that’s possible!). The amount of rework I’ll have to do on the new landscape to put in all the trails, foliage, and other props will be considerable. But it’ll be worth it if the quality of the overall landscape is better. It would be useful if you could create a demo video with side-by-side or before-after scenes of the old and new landscapes. I know it’s a lot of extra work on your part, but I’m sure your customers would appreciate it (at least this customer would). Thanks.

Hi Tom,

The remastered versions are reworked from ground up so everything is changed and issues addressed.

Cant wait once you update the complete package, which i gladly own
keep it coming !!

I have a question

I don’t know much about landscapes so I want to know if this means we can “sculpt” the landscape, add hills and valleys, or is that something that must be done exclusively via importing custom height maps?

I’m glad you like them.
Thanks.

It means that you can paint the landscape with different materials as opposed to the first versions. Of course you can sculpt the landscapes as well.

^ Good to know

I looked into this and seems like you can export the painted data in the form of a black and white .png, then you can import it back so this way you don’t get to re-paint all the trails and whatnot.

But this might be useless here because the heightmap in the new version isn’t the same as before. We can’t simply enlarge our 4k heightmaps to 8k because that results in resolution loss as well as making things look out of scale so some of the remastered landscapes have a brand new heightmap.

Hi, I have three of your assets, will be an update for Arid Mountains? And when will the update be released? Thank you!

@Maximum-Dev do these packs come with skyboxes? You mention cloud shadows; are you handling that with light functions or are they actual volumetric clouds? I assume it’s the former, but just curious

How many paintable landscape layers does the material landscape from the Snowy Mountains pack have?

Hello, Yes but no ETA.

Layered cloud shadows use an advanced light function with a custom panner. This of course creates dynamic volumetric effects. Please take a look at Dead Hills images in the OP for reference.
Snowy landscape has 3 paintable layers, with the ability to add more.

Another question @Maximum-Dev, do you have an ETA for when the Snowy Mountains 2.0 will go live on the marketplace?

Nobody knows. Epic says “Soon” but that might mean anything.
