find out what component a specific image is registered in

I’m afraid this has been asked before (possibly by me, actually), but is there any easy way to tell if a particular image has been incorporated into which component, or into any component at all?

Obviously, you can open an image in a pane and then flip thorough every component in the 1ds view, checking if “registered” comes up at the bottom of the screen. I’m looking for a solution which isn’t tedious when you have tens of components.

My particular application is that we’ve taken rocks from an outcrop for geochemical age determination, and we know which photos had those particular rocks in them. We need to see if those particular photos are part of any component.

PS hi from Mt Erebus!

Hi Aaron
Only with proper planning you can easily get information what images are where. Use proper naming convention for COMPONENTS and you never get lost…
Take a look at my larger-scale project with COMPONENT workflow, all COMPONENTS have their proper naming with respective images there…

I tried to start using CR again lately and this is still the #1 problem.

Let’s say I aligned 1000 images, and I got 25 components. Also say there is one image, P110969.JPG that is particularly important, because it contains the location that I took a geological sample from. So now I want to know if P110969.JPG was aligned into any components. The only way I can find to do this is to open each component and go through all 1000 images manually.

Wishgranter’s answer is not helpful at all in this scenario, as far as I can tell.

Hello Arron,

glad to hear from you again! The feature you are talking about seems interesting. Please add it to feature requests.

So far there is the only option - traverse all components and see when [registered] appears next to an image.

thank you.
