I’m tired of this. It’s a laptop. i get it. It’s not top notch hardware. It still has enough video memory for moderate development. It runs the engine in editor just fine, sometimes. Starter map works with all the bells and whistles and rtx. Sometimes. The empty 3rd person template. Same thing. Other days it just dies for no apparent reason. It always looks the same. The launch is unstable af. What’s the deal with the lost memory? Why the engine ignores free memory? What settings do i need to change? Or i really gotta strip the engine myself and reorganize this crap to fix this bloat?

I changed drivers too. No change. Nothing is using the memory. Where is the memory loss? Is nvidia throttling too? I’m not sure. This gotta stop. I’m can’t just buy a new system cause i get jarated on by misters “big deals”.
Xtra. Seriously trying to get the ressources down to stable state, kinda works but also doesn’t. DLSS is not working in the viewport or in immersive mode. Does not enforce Screenpercentage either. Starting the game in a seperate process, crashes it all the time. Tiny memory allocation issues (4 megabytes need a page file ?) and crashing the shader compiler in all sorts of ways.
update 2: disabled Mc Software gaming services. update was inbound too. stable atm. boots the editor with 2 gigs used. ran some tests and a shipped build alongside the editor without issues. the editor engine is still “leaking” vram tho. template starts at 3.something gigs in immersive mode with percentage and dlss. an hour of coding or casual work and bloat. fills it up all the way now tho. progress.
