Feed Render Texture to nDisplay (without camera?) possible?

I’d like to feed a render texture directly to an nDisplay viewport (so that the LED display being driven by the nDisplay viewport essentially just displays the render texture).

I know I can do this by having an orthographic camera “capture” the texture displayed on geo for the nDisplay viewport, but this seems like an extra set of calculations vs simply piping the texture directly to the nDisplay viewport.

So… is this possible? Is there a doc page or other resource that shows how to set this up?
